The Legislative Network is a venue for city government affairs and legislative professionals to discuss current and pending federal and state legislation and the ways in which these policies affect their cities on the ground. During Network meetings, members are able to utilize each other as a resource to gain valuable information. Through the sharing of city position letters, discussion of different processes of policy implementation and contact with a variety of public agencies, the Legislative Network will assist its participants in effectively briefing and advising their city managers and elected officials on the implications of issues, initiatives and measures, and the effects on their individual cities. In addition, the group may act as a catalyst for addressing issues as a regional body. The meetings of the Legislative Network will also allow the Division to stay abreast of issues affecting its members and will allow the Division to be more responsive in providing support, where appropriate. It will also give the Division more of the ongoing information it needs to be an effective communicator on issues affecting Orange County Cities. Mission StatementTo serve as a resource sharing forum for Orange County city government affairs staff (or the City Manager's designated staff member), working to fill their need for intra-city interaction, discussion and engagement on varying approaches to municipal management and the implementation of legislative policy.
