The Orange County Response to the Santiago Fires |

At the February 21 Division Meeting of the Orange County Division, League of California Cities, Orange County Fire Chief Chip Prather stood before local elected officials and explained that despite the negative impacts a fire of this magnitude can have on Orange County residents, there is one positive result. The Santiago Fire, Chief Prather describes, can serve as a crucial source of learning, not just for him and his staff, but for all collaborating entities.

With more than 250 local, state, federal, private, and non-profit entities assisting and cooperating in the efforts against the fires, Chief Prather's review of Orange County’s response is particularly important in making sure that both local and state agencies remain informed, and that they continue to respond to fire emergencies as one collective, and effective team.
