Leslie Keane is the current city manager of Laguna Woods. She has held this position since the City's incorporation in March 1999. Prior to this appointment, she worked for the Laguna Woods Village community as a public affairs officer, and she served as city manager for the Southern California Cities of Colton and Yucaipa.

Leslie received her bachelor's degree from San Diego State University in political science and journalism; she obtained her MBA from the University of Redlands. Prior to attending San Diego State University, she attended Golden West College and served as an editor of the school’s newspaper – The Branding Iron. She was a member of the journalism honor society, Kappa Tau Alpha.

Leslie began her career in government with the City of San Diego as an administrative analyst, providing staff support to the City Manager's Office, the Park and Recreation Department and the Human Services Department. She has held positions as the Administrative Officer for the Los Angeles County Transportation Commission and Budget Officer for the City of Irvine.

In addition to her responsibilities with the City of Laguna Woods, Leslie serves as Vice Chair of the Board of Trustees of the Orange County Cemetery District, a member the League of California Cities Administrative Services Policy Committee, Chair of the Orange County City Managers Association and a member of the Orange County Strategic Plan for Terrorism Preparedness Steering Committee. She is active in a variety of civic and professional organizations.
