Lou Bone was elected to the Tustin City Council in 2000 and 2004 and served as Mayor in 2005 and again in 2007. Councilmember Bone currently serves on the board of the Orange County League of Cities. He represents all the cities of Orange County on the California State League of Cities’ Transportation, Communication and Public Works Policy Committee. He is a member of the Orange County Council of Governments, serving as Chair in 2004.

He serves as a Regional Council Member of the Southern California Association of Governments (SCAG), and serves on the Transportation Policy Committee, Goods Movement Task Force Committee, Audit and Best Practices Oversight Subcommittee, By-Laws Committee, Contract Review Committee, and is Chair of the Maglev Task Force. He represents SCAG as an Ex-Officio Member on the Southern California Regional Rail Authority Board (Metrolink) and Los Angeles-San Diego-San Luis Obispo Rail Corridor Agency (LOSSAN).

Councilmember Bone was recently elected by the Tustin City Council to serve on the Board of the Orange County Vector Control District.
