Margie L. Rice was elected to the Westminster City Council in November 1994. While serving as Mayor Pro Tem during 1997, she assumed the duties of Mayor for three months while the incumbent was recuperating from an automobile accident. Council Member Rice was re-elected to a second term in 1998. She was elected to the office of Mayor in 2000, 2002, 2004 and 2006.
In February 2001 Assemblyman Ken Maddox named Mayor Margie L. Rice as "Woman of the Year" for the 68th Assembly District.
As the City Council representative, Ms. Rice currently serves as a Director to the Public Cable Television Authority Board, on the Orange County Housing Community Development Commission, on the Orange County Waste Management Commission Local Task Force, and as liaison to the Greater Westminster Chamber of Commerce. She served on the West Orange County Water Board, the Westminster Collaborative Board, the Westminster Foundation for Educational Excellence Board, and was the alternate board member for the Orange County Fire Authority |
